Position: Assistant Group Leader

Job Summary
The Assistant Group Leader is responsible for providing direct supervision to children in a childcare setting. They work closely with the Group Leader to ensure a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for the children.

Key Responsibilities

• Child Supervision:
  • Directly supervise children in a group setting, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Assist with daily activities,  including meals, homework  and playtime.
  • Implement age-appropriate activities and lessons.
• Classroom Management:
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment.
  • Help with classroom setup and breakdown.
  • Ensure that classroom materials and equipment are properly maintained.
• Communication:
  • Communicate effectively with parents, children, and coworkers.
  • Document child development and progress.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences and other communication activities.
• Professional Development:
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings to stay updated on childcare best practices. EEC 
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working with children in a childcare setting preferred.
• Must have a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards working with children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Must meet all state and local licensing requirements for childcare workers.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
