Highlights of a Membership include:
Homework Help
Students are able to begin and most often times complete their homework with the assistance of one on one tutors from students attending College-Preparatory High Schools. Members are able to comfortably complete their work in our Educational Center equipped with ample resources.
A Nourishing meal
At the Boys & Girls Club, we believe in fueling young minds and bodies. Our daily food program offers nutritious meals to all of our youth, ensuring that they have the energy and focus they need to succeed. By providing these meals, we are not only addressing hunger but also contributing to the overall well-being of our community.
Positive Action
Positive Action is based on the intuitive philosophy that we feel good about ourselves when we do positive actions. The Thoughts-Actions-Feelings Circle (TAF) illustrates how this works in life: our thoughts lead to actions and those actions lead to feelings about ourselves which in turn lead to more thoughts. Our members get the opportunity to really examine how they feel about themselves and throughout the course of this program, recognize how their thoughts & actions influence not only others, but themselves.
S.T.E.A.M
We are exited to offer S.T.E.A.M. programming to our members. S.T.E.A.M. programs fill an important gap in education today. The acronym, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics, combines subjects known to increase critical thinking and problem-solving skills through unique hands-on learning opportunities.
Khan Academy Club
Founded in 2006, Khan Academy is one of the world’s most popular education websites supporting the mission of providing ‘a free world-class education for anyone, everywhere’. Khan Academy offers more than 5,500 instructional videos – of which approximately 3,500 are about mathematics. It also offers more than 100,000 practice mathematics problems that students can complete at their own pace. At our Club, we support our members in practicing their skills and expanding their knowledge through the use of Khan Academy.

Teen Program
Our teens spend a lot of time having fun, and working hard! From running their very own Keystone club & store, to being involved in sports and volunteering. Each year our teens have multiple award ceremonies and college visits – our local teens are busy learning about leadership, responsibility, and having a sense of community.
- Our teen program is for ages 13-18
- We even have special Summer 'Teen Only' hours in the building from 4:00pm – 8:00pm
- After school hours run until 7:00 pm
Keystone
Keystoning is the Boys & Girls Club Movement’s most dynamic teen program. It affords teens an opportunity to gain valuable leadership and service experience. They conduct activities in three areas: academic success, career exploration and community service. The Taco Bell Foundation for Teens sponsors the Keystone Club program as part of a multi-year teen initiative; a strategic partnership between the Foundation and BGCA provides Clubs with the tools and resources to create a positive place for teens as well as for kids.
Youth of the Year
Each year, one exceptional Club member is selected to be the Youth of the Year (YOY), serving as an ambassador for Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill youth. Over the decades, these individuals have exemplified the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill mission and are proof to the impact Clubs make in transforming and saving kids’ lives. The local club winners then compete state wide in Massachusetts. The winner of the MA then continues onto the National Youth of the Year. Previous National YOY winners have achieved success in a variety of industries, including entertainment, politics, business and sports.
Becoming National Youth of the Year is an exciting and inspiring journey. Each year, thousands of Club teens participate in local, state and regional Youth of the Year events. Six teens, including five regional winners and a national military youth winner, advance to the National Youth of the Year Celebration, where one outstanding young person is named Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s national teen spokesperson. The National Youth of the Year is a role model, leader and advocate for over 3.6 million youth served by Boys & Girls Clubs each year, and all of America’s young people.
